ShotokanMaster Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 no matter hw diff the style is their the same core so i agree I love Shotokan Karate Do and American Kenpo Karate
bushido_man96 Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 no matter hw diff the style is their the same core so i agreeBut what is this core? How do we define it? I think different styles will have a different core; core beliefs, core techniques, core concepts and tactics. Which is it? https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
sensei8 Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 PunchKickBlock/DeflectStrikePostureThings like these, we ALL have these in mind as a core; a core that we all share. Styles?!?!?!?!? We amend the core; that's what makes our styles' methodology and ideology and the like. Brian, What I've posted here, is what I was referring to as the "CORE" of the style. Do not a vastly majority styles of the MA have the above list? I believe that they do, in that, we are, by the core itself, the same style. Please, don't misunderstand what I'm saying. Shindokan isn't TKD and TKD isn't BJJ and on and on and so forth. But, the "core" of techniques is in each style of the MA.Bruce Lee stated this..."I do not believe in styles! I don't believe in a Japanese way or a Chinese way. Unless people have 2 heads and four arms/legs, we have to use what we have to the best of our abilities." **Proof is on the floor!!!
bushido_man96 Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Sounds good to me! https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
