mal103
Karate/MA doesn't have to be linked to Japan or Okinawa, it has gone worldwide so should be treated as worldwide and not tied to the source.Any "good" school/style will include grappling, ground work and being able to defend yourself so be careful not to label them.Good luck and enjoy it! wagnerk
Kobudo (Martial arts weaponry), a lot of Shotokan associations will teach a weapon or two, not all do mind you...My first association offered Bo and Sai training, 2-4 times a year. My second association offered Bo and katana (as the instructor of that association also was a kendo practitioner) training. So it would be down to the instructors. However, glad you are going to try it out Tang Soo Do: 3rd Dan '18Shotokan Karate: 2nd Dan '
Dani_001
The OGKK is down the road from me and I never knew it. They are Goju Ryu and I used to do Goju Ryu as stated before. I have joined up with them as their knowledge is rich and vast as well.I feel that I will learn a lot here as well. Any art is only as strong as the versatility of the student, the knowledge of bunkai from instructors and again the student, his innovative skills. Uphold the Budo spirit and nothing will overcome you!
