Zaine Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Chishi meaning the stick with a stone at the end? (Inelegant explanation I know). Martial arts training is 30% classroom training, 70% solo training.https://www.instagram.com/nordic_karate/
Wastelander Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I'm not aware of any formalized kata for the chi'ishi, but it's entirely possible that certain instructors teach specific sets of chi'ishi exercises in a particular order, and that could be considered a kata, of sorts. You can check out hojo undo videos that Jundokan instructors have put on YouTube to get some ideas. wagnerk Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 It appears that chishi kata is either the katas Seisan or Sanchin but using the chishi bar??? However like Wastelander said...it's entirely possible that certain instructors teach specific sets of chi'ishi exercises in a particular order...You can check out these links, maybe they can help you. However I would also get clarification from your own instructor.http://www.iogkf.com/newsletter/edition_2010_1/articles_pg_04.htm Tang Soo Do: 3rd Dan '18Shotokan Karate: 2nd Dan '04
andym Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 My experience within Goju Ryu is that there is no set 'kata' nor even fixed order to any Jumbi undo, Hojo or Kigu Undo. Here's a couple of youtube links. If you believe in an ideal. You don't own it ; it owns you.
