I think when you look into retaining a tradition, you need to look at why its retained, and then evaluate if it is important or not.

This really is key. There's a story of a woman who made the Christmas ham every year for the family. Every year she's cut the ends off the each end of the ham. When asked why she said, "because my mom always did that." When a family member asked that woman's mother about why she cut the ends of the ham she said, "that's because my oven was so small & a a full sized ham wouldn't fit."

The "why" is huge in keeps &/or passing on a tradition.

.......

Yes that was what I should have said, evaluate what is important and retain!

A much better of saying it!

Thank you!

The second part of what you say , sorry not wanting to take lighten the thread to much, but guns...reminds me of:

:D

You're welcome. I've not seen that movie. Do you recommend it?

yes, its a good film good fun good action...as to story line ...well.... when you watch it, do feel free to disable some of the higher brain functions!

.....but....there is a scene (three if I remember correctly) that will resonate with this thread and the comments around 'guns' that were made earlier!

My hint to you is the 'Gun kata'........
