AdamK
Hello!I am visiting the Bay Area with my fiance in consideration of a possible move. We're staying in the East Bay, and I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for dojos in the area (specifically, the Rockridge neighborhood of Oakland). I've been practicing Shotokan for more than 25 years and love the idea of continuing my training there, but I wouldn't be opposed to checking out schools that might be a good complement if the environment and teacher are special. My dojo on the East Coast has been way more than just a karate dojo to me, so, again, while it would be nice to find a place where the history of the art is relative, it's way more important that I find a good, inspired crew with an enthusiastic teacher. Thanks so much!Adam
JohnASE
Maybe someone in the area can be of more help. Off the top of my head, all I can think of is a Shito Ryu dojo in Moraga, CA, a ways east of you - The Karate and Fitness Place.http://www.kfpusa.com/ John - ASE Martial Arts Supplyhttps://www.asemartialarts.com
Wastelander
There is Sensei Wah's Kyokushin dojo in Pleasant Hill--a friend of mine trains there. It isn't Shotokan, but it's similar and they seem like a dedicated group of karateka.
