I'm glad to say it did! I now hold a full 4th Kyu with Dragon Martial Arts Shukokai Karate.

The Kihon was as good as my nerves would allow. I've done better Kata, but I felt I did my best and they were up to standard. The kick combinations were my weak section but I gave them my best and Sensei was not displeased. My Ippon Kumite was my strength, fine, crisp and powerful. My free sparring was what I excelled at in my view, I fought a pre-Dan karateka who, by the end of the bout was backing off me and would not engage in combinations with me; I felt that I dominated the last minute of the fight. My pad work went well, My empi strikes were hard and relaxed, my Ushiro Geri was much better than before, this is what I really worked on and it showed; there is room for improvement but I'm very pleased.

Over all, a cracking grade, challenging but worth every second.

Yes Sensei, this was the toughest test so far with this academy. The Chief Instructor said "You now move from Intermediate to Advanced level in your Karatedo" It felt really good, to be honest I struggled in recent weeks but training with two 4th Dan instructors who happen to be brothers in this club has been very beneficial. They have a different outlook to Karate from eachother; one is traditional and a bunkai and self defense specialist, the younger is a full contact fighter. I am very lucky to be part of their martial arts family.

Congrats! Looks like you're entering into a new phase of your MA journey... Don't let any new or increased difficulty / challenging training daunt you... Keep it up, face it squarely and you'll persevere!
