If the new job comes to fruition I'll be moving and switching styles. Booxi Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 All the comments I enjoyed. I am Shotokan to Shorin -ryu (Matsumura).I agree stances are more realistic in Shorin-ryu. But the deep Shotokan is largely for training uses to strengthen the legs, not meant for free sparringor the street. We sparred with much higher stances. We weren't conditioned into deep stances for fighting at all. This was just the training. JKAbranch off. Black Belt
