Practice at home

:D

Then may I suggest some practice standing on one leg, with your other foot held next to the standing legs calf...but with your eyes closed!

:o

Swop legs after 10-30 seconds if you can make it that far, just keep doing that. In your mind start thinking things through, that punch that kick you were doing the other session and so on....

As time passes extend the thoughts to full on kata, move through the kata in your mind!

Sounds mad I know but this forms the basis of mental strength and discipline.

...and always enjoy what you do!

Have fun!

Doesn't sound mad at all. Thanks for the tip. Gotta try and see if I fall over with my eyes closed lol

Thank you, please take your time, no rush here.

What you'll also workout (as TKD student) is this will help you, as in your ankles a great deal!

Once you can run through a kata in your mind without 'stumbling', actually do the kata in the real world.

Keep your eyes closed.

Do the kata slowly as not to punch walls, units etc. this will develop your spacial awareness.

More mental strength and discipline!

I do need the mental strength for sure. My mind likes to take over what my body knows and aren't staying in sync.

Then things like this should be a great help to you!

The body has a good memory, wishing hard this was not a cliché to post here, but;

Do clear you mind.

The more you practice the more the movement becomes natural, more 'second nature'.

When that happens things will fall into place much much easier. If you have a busy head, then mental discipline will develop you and your mind....like I say "things like this should be a great help to you!"

I have been knocked down by the flu since Thursday night and so there has been no practice and it is killing me. I have to make it to class tomorrow so hopefully since my kids are at school I can rest enough today to have my body heal more. Better but my body can't handle anything right now. Going to be missing weapons tonight.
