I must stress once again as he adapts so will i but generally i would not give them enough time to circle around me as i said finish them quickly thats my method.

I believe that kungfu is a supreme form of martial arts and believe we can beat anybody using Chinese martial arts whether stand up or on the ground.

With respect, I'm not sure I follow the point of this thread.

Don't take this the wrong way, it's not my intent to be combative or rude here.

It's just that, every time someone provides any kind of situation for you to think about your retort is the same. "I'm faster, my base is too good, I would just hit them." I'm not saying any of that is untrue...maybe you are. I'm just wondering if you came here just to say your style is the best ever. If so, you've said it, thank you.

The problem you're running into here is this forum, literally, has about 1000 years of martial arts experience telling you that NO STYLE is the best or has all the answers. We've all ran into people, like you seem to be, who believe your style is undefeatable. Every time we've run into those people, we've exposed a weakness of some sort.

My personal opinion, and I give it only as opinion, is that you need to let go of your ego. Take the time to exit your comfort zone, empty your cup, and go into another style with no notions of what is good or bad. Literally enter another school, academy, dojo, or dojang simply to learn what they do. Not what they do against you, but what they do; period.

This is the only way you will ever find value in anything. If you constantly compare to what you already know, your growing will be stunted and, in my opinion, impossible.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy you found a system you love and are passionate about. That is just as important as the usefulness of the system itself. But don't allow your love and passion to blind you to the usefulness, authenticity, beauty, and effectiveness of all the other systems that exist.

Good luck in your journey, my friend!

KALIPUTRA... I must say that I find your passion, somewhat inspiring. Confidence is most dnefinitely key in any MA, however overconfidence can be the downfall of any great Martial Artist.

Remember, a boat can float in water, but it can also sink in it.

I have trained in karate for a grand total of 9 years, give a month or so. I have witnessed enough and listened to enough stories to backup my opinion that karate is most definitely a complete Martial Art.

With this belief however, comes the acceptance and knowledge that if put into a "no holds barred match" with a BJJ/Judo brown belt, I could potentially win. I know this, just as well as I know that there are BJJ/Judo white belts who could just as easily cripple me, within mere seconds. (jail, which i have no interest in going to, is also likely in a no holds barred match.)

In the Martial Arts there really is no 'black and white'. It's not the style that wins, it's a combination between student, teacher, and training partners. This has been said SO MANY TIMES on these forums. I guarantee you, I couldn't even count them all up. This is also, a key belief for a martial artist.

In fact, with my complete faith in karate, I am currently on a journey of finding a grappling art that suits me as a martial artist. I want that knowledge and experience in another art that does things completely differently than I've always done. But like I said, almost nothing is black and white in the Martial Arts. Take a look at the natural world, what are the most commonly occurring colours? Certainly not black and white.

To search for the old is to understand the new.

The old, the new, this is a matter of time.

In all things man must have a clear mind.

you are exactly right about almost everything you said save one thing patrick I do feel im unbeatable, the thing you are mistaken about is that i dont say this out of ego.

I have studied other styles namely kalari, mma and a small bit of goju ryu.

I make that claim based on my own experience like i said this is a forum for discussion so here we discuss but i have always had challenges out there for any who will answer them. (These days the responses come few and far between) I take no offence to your estimation of things. Im still willing to prove our superiority (not necessarily that of my martial art but rather of my training lineage) against any and all comers and will be until the day I die.

You just need to get into the UFC, it sounds like to me. I think that would be a solid proving ground for you. There are plenty of MMA gyms out there to train at, and surely a promoter will eventually see your talent and ability, and you will get a shot sooner rather than later.

I dont think very highly of MMA honestly but I do acknowledfe that the talent in the US and in SFL is far greater than what we have here in SA.

Perhaps you are right I am likely to return to Arizona next year maybe then Il give it a shot.

Thanks for the Idea.
