More than one teacher more than one promotion.

Recommended Posts

What's your take on promotions from multiple instructors? I was awarded my black belt from a previous instructor that I train with him whenever I am back home. I am a brown belt where I currently train, but am asked frequently by higher ranks when am going to be a black belt? (No one knows that I have rank in Goju). How will my current instructor see this? Is it a sign of disrespect?

The past is no more; the future is yet to come. Nothing exist except for the here and now. Our grand business is not to see what lies dimly at a distance, but to do what's clearly is clearly at hand...Lets continue to train!

If it's a different style altogether then I wouldn't have thought it would have mattered. Although the skills are probably transferrable it doesn't mean the curriculum is. If both belts are in the same style then that would be a little different.

How will your instructor see this? Well, if he's solid across the board, he'll not give it any thought beyond...."Hhhmmmmm", and that's about it.

No, imho, it's not a sign of disrespect, especially since we live in the year 2013 and not the yesteryears.

Just train and train hard!! You'll be fine!!
