omnifinite
When I see people with tribal tattoos, I'm always tempted to ask, "So what tribe are you from?" I think that would get me in a lot of trouble though . Just seems strange to me to compare those tattoos with tribal symbolism because tribal symbolism tends to have complex and deeply-rooted cultural messages behind it. If I designed my own "tribal" tattoo it could have a lot of meaning to me, but otherwise I'm not sure why people select them beyond them looking cool (not that I know all that much about the "tattoo culture"... there's probably a lot I'm not seeing). 1st Dan HapkidoColored belts in Kempo and Jujitsu

theswarm
i don't like kanji or tribal tats - people just go and get them my most hated tattoo idea is the barcode, if i was a tattooist i would hate all these things, because everyone always gets them. I have a tattoo on my left calf it's two fists breaking a rope in front of a red X which has no black outline and looks like it's been painted on my leg. A year later the red is still so damn red it looks like blood it looks awesome and I love it. I'm planning on getting a tattoo around my bicep much like a bracelet style with the word 'spirit' in fancy cursive writing
1ONEfighting
I have an aztec sun on the right delt, moon on the left delt, tribal scorpion on the collarbone going up the side of my neck. I can't say the tattoos hurt in themselves so much, but holding my neck to the side for an hour and a half sucked. Trainwreck Tiemeyerwishes he was R. Lee Ermey. daeinwolf
I have four thus far. The Chaosphere on my left shoulder. A traditionally done medicine wheel on my left ankle, the chinese character for Raven on the bottom of my right forearm, and the chinese character for Wolf on my left. In the next month I am having the Yinyang and the eight heagrams done on my right shoulder. Eventually, I hope to have a complete body piece done. I have only one rule about my ink: Nothing that does not have spiritual importance to me. The traditionally done Medicine wheel hurt the worse, of course. When they take that little hammer and hit the needle/s into the skin...it hurt. Sastimos---Joshua There are no limits.

I see what you are saying. I like the simplicity and that they are not dated. Also one part of my tattoo has very special meaning but I am not at liberty to say any more. 43 Years oldBlue Belt (7th Kyu) Shorin-ryuRoberts Karate
