I just thought this would be an interesting subject for the grapplers on here.

What's your favorite sweep and why is that particular sweep your favorite?

I'll have to got with the scissor sweep. My reason for this particular sweep is that it's me best sweep and I can either hit it most any time I try even from odd angles or I can bait someone into it.

I've really liked my flower sweep lately.

Spider guard or X guard variants. I play lots of open guard so those two flow real well for me. They tend to be pretty good percentage for me. On top of that, they are just flat out fun to work, every elegant.

I've got a couple from de la Riva and x I can pull out occasionally but just started working x guard a couple months ago.

Scissor sweep, right now and I think that is your influence PittbullJudoka. I've caught a few spider guard sweeps lately when people were trying to back out of guard or hit a standing pass. I can't play open guard to save my life, it's just something that happens.

ive been working kosoto gari a lot.

its my fav of the month

I think the thread is speaking more toward sweeps from the ground.

None the less, kosoto is a great takedown.

Great topic pittbullJudoka!!

My favorite sweep is the Deashi Harai...[Forward Foot Sweep]

It's great for big guys, and I'm a big guy, because it's so sneaky. How so? As my opponent advances towards me, I'll sweep his/her front foot as he/she is stepping AND before he/she can put that said foot back down. Hehehehheehe...like I said...sneaky, but effective.

:)

Sorry guys I assumed we all spoke BJJ. Sweeps from guard or rather reversals to better your position.
