This past Friday - one of my students was having a difficult time with a double hand move in one of our Forms. After I showed it to him in application - no more trouble with the move.

Personally I would share the lethal applications to only people I know extremely well regardless of rank. Lets be honest, we don't do comprehensive background checks on students. They can be paroles or wanted criminals or psychotics for all we know.

Students who desire to achieve Dan ranking in our JJ system ARE required to obtain a concealed weapon permit which entails an extensive background checks. No permit no advanced training. Even then discretion is of the Professor.

What does a concealed carry permit have to do with jujitsu? It's not like getting such a permit requires any level of morality. It's not like knowing any martial art makes you any more deadly than anyone else out there. And background checks???? By whom? I call shenanigans!

That does seem kind of odd. What is his reasoning in attaining a conceal-carry license? Is it so he can do the background checks?
