Valn Posted August 30, 2001 Posted August 30, 2001 Well, I don't see where they based their information on and how accurate it is. One thing, it strange but I always hear that taekwon do is more popular than karate but te graphs seems to indicate otherwise.
iamrushman Posted August 30, 2001 Posted August 30, 2001 karateka san.. just wondering if that study is impartial. due to the fact that it was produce by the karate foundation...however because karate is the most world renown name for martial arts and sometime used as an umbrella term. (i.e. korean karate = tkd) it's most likely true. just for my personal information. rushman (karate forums sensei)3rd dan wtf/kukkiwon"saying nothing...sometimes says the most"--e. dickerson
Karateka Posted August 30, 2001 Posted August 30, 2001 This study had to be impartial. It is used for a)funding and fundraising and b) Karate's bid for the Olympics. They need to see howmany clubs their are. It is quite accurate. The term they use for Karate is either Shi-to Ryu, Shotokan, Wado Ryu, or Goju Ryu plus some other minor styles.
