I'm looking for a heavyweight/tournament gi but I'm not sure where to find one at a good price. Any ideas? I've had a look around but I'm not sure.

I was lucky enough to get given a Tokaido HD Gi and it's great.

I have bought a couple of Gi's on eblag of cheaper brands and had to adjust them, the first one thought my son had a 50 inch waste....

You get what you pay for but they are great to train in and are good for grappling.

My Tokaido is quite simply the most comfortable gi I have ever owned, although it does make me sweat a fair bit, but then thats good, right?

Tokaido gis are great, but as the op has mentioned he's on a budget, I would sooner recommend:

If you are someone with broad shoulders for your height, the Tokon Europa is a heavyweight gi with a nice cut... though I wouldn't recommend it for someone of a tall&slim build:

If you are tall and slim, I highly recommend Mugen yellow label (they're affordable and fit AWESOMELY):

Hi

I have two Blitz White Diamond Heavyweight Karate Suits that I like the look of and feel realy comfortable in. Really soak up all that sweat LOL

Its a traditionaly cut suit and is decent quality and affordable.

It also comes with 2 sets of trousers. A shorter pair with draw waist for kata and a longer elasticated pair for kumite. The jacket is extra long and looks great either in the club or at competitons. The ties are very strong and substantial and will not rip of if you are grabbed or thrown.

It was also the choice suit of the late great Tatsuo Suzuki Sensei

I've just bought one of these, as an upgrade to my 8oz Entry level Blitz Gi, first impressions are that its excellent quality especially as I only paid £52 for it. Its much stiffer than the previous gi and does have an excellent pop to it. Still a bit stiff after only a couple washes but hopeful that will soften up slightly over time.
