Kensai Posted September 21, 2002 Posted September 21, 2002 Aikido is for everyone, the only advice I can give is to work hard. Take Care
ZeRo Posted September 21, 2002 Posted September 21, 2002 well done man!! hope it goes well from now on.
SD Posted September 21, 2002 Author Posted September 21, 2002 me to, i'm still gonna get back into boxing to, just on my own, not going to a gym or anything
ZeRo Posted September 22, 2002 Posted September 22, 2002 boxing is a good sport to practise. keep us informed of how your aikido is goin.
SD Posted September 22, 2002 Author Posted September 22, 2002 boxing is awesome, i feel you have to practice some sort of striking art. i had my second aikido class today, it was really good, and we mainly worked arm bars and one take down. I gotta find some sort of slippery surface to put ion the bottom of my artificial foot cause its made uf rubber and it sticks to the mat witch doesn't allow me to pivot on it.
ZeRo Posted September 22, 2002 Posted September 22, 2002 wow that must be quite hard with an artificial foot? well it sounds like your goin well so keep with it! and keep having the awsome fun your having now!
Xtreme Fury Posted September 22, 2002 Posted September 22, 2002 hey don't let your artificial foot give you an excuse or anything like that, you can be better then anyone no matter what. i hope u continue enjoying your aikido classes. I'm really happy you found the right art!!
SD Posted September 22, 2002 Author Posted September 22, 2002 thanks i feel the same way, aikido and boxing rule I would love to do hung gar, but i'm not sure if there are any schools arounds here
striking_cobra Posted September 24, 2002 Posted September 24, 2002 i hate to tell you but if you're looking for "street fighting skills" or whatever aikido probably isn't the way for you. i'm not saying that it isn't fun or effective or whatever but you sound like a guy who wants to kick and punch, aikido is a purly defensive martial art i would suggest something like tai boxing...that's just my advice but then again...who am i? SD Posted September 25, 2002 Author Posted September 25, 2002 yeah, i practice boxing actually, along with akido. godd suggestion though
