John G
Off topic: Who mentioned anything about terrorists? I was replying to ZakariRu's comment: "Pure genius!! Lets have a fully grown adult ambush a * child. Genius and martial valor at its finest.!" My point was that fully grown men still lay in wait to ambush children, children armed to the teeth, children who believe in dieing for a cause. We just kill each other with bombs and guns instead of swords. What. You can't see the honour in that? No What is the best? ....Philosopher no ....Fighter No ....Influence in martial arts maybe ....Influence as a human no way He was way to small to be the best fighter ever He was arrogant and a drug user He influenced they way in which martial arts are studied today In my opinion the most influencial martial artist in ALI. He is known world wide he stood up for his beliefs modern boxing changed totally because of him Honor is the most important thing a man has once you lose it it is gone forever
G95champ
Most boxers do not consider themselves Martial Artists. We MA usually like to bring them into our group. (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."
ZakariRu
Bruce was not a drug user. We have had this thread before.
risingdragon
i know these are your opinions on bruce lee, but i have to say that what you say are the most arrogant things i've ever heard in my life. Bruce reached a peak that no other ma have ever reached. Physical and spiritual. The man trained no stop which i no other ma would do. If you knew him back then you would probably see him strectching or doing anything to strengthing his body. He would do that if he were to visit his friends or families home. He did amazing feat that no other ma has done. Like kick a 200-300 pound punchig bag and breaking it. It was even said by his friends that he busted a punching bag with only a sidekick. Plus how can u guys or girls compare him to Musashi. C'mon thats in the past. If people were to ask for a fight it wouldn't be to the death. unless they wanted to kill him. If u guys don't believe me then here's a link to this great martial artist. John G
He was arrogant and a drug user Arrogant, yes. A drug user, well, I think Mr. Bruce Lee could be forgiven for his recreational use of cannabis. After all it was the late sixty's early seventy's a different time, a time when the Vietnam war was raging, racism still ran rife, the Beatles were popular and the cold war made everybody think that there would never be a tomorrow. LeaF
Bruce reached a peak that no other ma have ever reached. Ummm.. THis would be completely and utterly incorrect. He did amazing feat that no other ma has done. Like kick a 200-300 pound punchig bag and breaking it. I give the man creadit he was an excellent fighter, but there have been greater feats then this throughout history. Perhaps the reason noone else broke a punching bag was because punching bags were not around in the 16th century. One perticular martial artist (can't remember his name at the moment) tore tree bark of a huge live tree with his bare hands. I would like to see bruce try this. Ma of the old have broken metal beams with their hands, snapped thick bamboo... etc, etc... but i have to say that what you say are the most arrogant things i've ever heard in my life. I think you post altough it is only your opinion is filled with the most uneducated things I've ever heard in my life. Perhaps you should reserach some other martial artists, becuase then you would realize that bruce lee did not reach some peak never travelled before. And as for spiritual, I definitly think he was no where near the top. He was way to arrogent and always after attention. I will explain further later, gotta go to church now... risingdragon
if u went on the site i put on leaf you would see more of bruce's feats. He was at the point where he couldn't even fight a human, because no one at that time was able to stand against his speed and strength. He thursted his fingers on a coca-cola can which at the time was steel. The can was unopened. i know i may have said stupid things that may make me uneducated, but I'm not saying his the greatest ma in the world. Others have now surpassed him already. I'm just saying he's one of the best. YOu can't say oh he was good, he was great. anyone reading this be sure to check out the site. Xtreme Fury
he was really good. now we may look back and think some of the stuff he did may have not been a big deal, but if he lived now then he would probably be better then anyone(saying he was still young) because he was so determined to be the best. he found out a lot of things, it may be obvioius now but it wasn't back then and that's what makes him amazing, he figured out a lot of stuff. sure he was a movie actor but he was training all the time, and he beat people that were much bigger then him. even today most people aren't half as good as him. but i don't think he was the best, i dont think anyone can be the best. im not really a fan of his, i don't think i know much about him, ive haven't really watched his movies, but i still know he was great at what he did.
