RedLynx Posted September 17, 2002 Posted September 17, 2002 Hi guys, I've heard there is a three sectional nunchaku called the San Setsu-Kon. Is this areal M/A weapon? Or really a three-sectioned staff? It also says each stick is "14 long. If it's really a three-sectional nunchaku shouldn't they be "12 long each? Any help clearing up my confusion will be appreciated. -Lynx"A fool can put on wisdom, but his foolisness will show." -Kurt DoplerNunchaku Sticks (chain variety)
AndrewGreen Posted September 17, 2002 Posted September 17, 2002 Nunchaku can be various sizes depending on preferance. Some say 12", some 14", some say length of forearm, doesn't really matter, Its personal preference. Same as length of the string, it depends on the user. Sansetsu kun usually refers to a 3 sectional staff though. Sanbon nunchaku is used. of course their are likely other choices of terms used by different people. Tobias_Reece Posted September 17, 2002 Posted September 17, 2002 Andrew hit the nail on the head - different teams are used by different people. TO ME what seperates the Sansetu-kon from Sanbon nunchaku is that the Sansetsu-kon was generally connected with chain, whilst Sanbon nunchaku was made of rope. The theory behind the Sanbon nunchaku is that if one section was cut off, a normal pair of nunchaku were available.
