Drew Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Being the shameless self promoter I am, and being as this is the only MA related forum I am a member of, I figured I would share my amateur MMA debut here.http://youtu.be/pj0rt6BoTXA?t=31sThis was on Feb. 8th 2013, so its been over a month, but better late than never.I know I jacked the term "Mandalorian JiuJitsu" from one of you fellows, I can't remember who, I hope you don't mind. It was funny so I wrote it down as my style on the sign up sheet. I love the way the announcer says it. Wastelander Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Well done, Drew!It looks like you kept your guard a bit wide and invited his jab straight in, but the hook-clinch-throw progression worked out very well--I love a good throw in MMA! I will admit that I was a bit concerned when you stayed in the scarf hold position up against the fence and he started working that escape to take your back, but you recovered well. It's not very often you see someone put to sleep by a Guillotine, too, so good on you! Hopefully my amateur debut this year goes as smoothly. Thanks for sharing! Tkdampbjj Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Congrats. Awesome fight. How old are you man? MasterPain Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Arcola.... How do you stay thin? That's Amish country, and Amish can cook. They have donuts over here that put Krispy Kreme to shame. And banana nut bread,and... but I digress. Nice fight. My fists bleed death. -Akuma
sensei8 Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Very nice!!That's what happens when you're feed your opponents head...KO!!I was expecting the KO to come from your first punch. I mean, if one's going to hold their hands in the manner that your opponent was, one better know how to duck, slip, and/or block; otherwise, good night Irene. **Proof is on the floor!!!
Drew Posted March 22, 2013 Author Posted March 22, 2013 Congrats. Awesome fight. How old are you man? 20 at the time. Also, I'm not from Arcola, I'm a couple hours south of it. I stay thin because I have a hard time eating enough to gain weight. I had to gain 10 pounds for this fight and I was miserably full all the time. I appreciate the critisism, there is definitely a lot for me to improve on. Cobra_Kai Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 That was a very gnarly fight. Kudos on the choke-out I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.~ Bruce Lee
