At my dojo we get results two weeks after the test. This is also a test of patience because if you ask how you did before the results its an automatic failure. Then my Sensei puts the new belt you then we bow and thank Sensei.

When I get promoted to a new rank, even if its just a stripe we have a formal recognition of it.

He will probably just get the belt and give it to you the next class. Or he might be testing your patience.

I'm not sure I'd anyone has replied with the same thing. But I personally like this. Tiny ceremonies are nice but at the same time I think obscure the true goal. I think maybe your teacher was saying, hey look, it's no big deal.

In my Instructors school, we did the test, then the next class we had would be getting promoted. I remember my Black Belt test one day, then about 3weeks to a month later I got promoted. Don't be too hard on yourself, you will get it.
