xo-karate
If your round house kick is caught, I'd switch to grappling - fall down and think of the situation as some one passing your guard standing.
JusticeZero
As a point, there are arm structures that are best for catching legs in certain target areas; learn to see these being put together and don't throw kicks into them. Kuma
If your round house kick is caught, I'd switch to grappling - fall down and think of the situation as some one passing your guard standing.Just be careful with that tactic. They still have good control of you and in many cases you might end up face down on the mat, which is not a fun place to be. I wouldn't try it simply because if they have it locked in right at the Achilles tendon, falling down deliberately might injure it.
xo-karate
It's not a good situation, if your leg is caught by an opponent who knows what to do. If I kick, I'm going forward and first instinct is to try to catch hold of my opponents upperbody - grapp him, if my leg is caught. My opponent will counter with his arm, sweep with leg and/or break my balance either turning with my kick or aggressively push me back. Not an easy situation.Trying to force my leg down or twisting back are options...Anything but waiting for your opponent to take the initiative. If you are not moving him, you are in trouble. T3chnopsycho
Everything has already been said. Always pull back your leg as fast as possible after kicking. If you get caught either try and pull your leg to you (with him maybe) or try and get close to him. In any case you need to get hold of your opponent so he can't throw you. If you land on the ground mostly it's over.If you should fall. Don't forget it's not over yet. Try and get away / back up as fast as possible CheersTP 1st Dan:It's not the top but just the point where you start to understand the true size of what you're doing. JGarner890
1.) Lean forward, stomp the caught kick to the ground. If you can, punch to the face (not your face).2.) Jump and kick to the head with the leg you're standing on. Perfect Practice makes Perfect.

Harkon72
I think JGarner's first point is the most suited response to having your kick caught; pull your self forward and stomp your foot to the ground. Look to the far mountain and see all.
