sensei8 Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 (edited) How do you care for your MA certs?I'll go first...1>Do you frame it/them?2>Do you laminate it/them?3>Do you display it/them by hanging them on a given wall?4>Do you hang them in a group or in a long line or in a pattern?5>What other way(s) do you care for them?Since I can remember, I've laminated each and every one of them. Then, I'd affix them to a good size and nice looking cutting board. Then, I'd hang them in small groups; 5 per row. Why 5 per row? I like to multiply by fives I suppose.Your turn. Harkon72 Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 I stick them to the wall of my study with blu-tack. Look to the far mountain and see all.
sensei8 Posted March 10, 2013 Author Posted March 10, 2013 Without me looking on the web...What's Blu Tack? Does it stain the certs? **Proof is on the floor!!!
Harkon72 Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 It's office sticky paste, and no. Look to the far mountain and see all.
sensei8 Posted March 10, 2013 Author Posted March 10, 2013 I'll be darn; quite interesting and worth a trip to an office supply store. Thanks because I'll tell my students about it. **Proof is on the floor!!!
FangPwnsAll7 Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 I frame them and put them in rows of 3 right next to my belt rack which displays my belts. Tang Soo Do - Red Belt (2nd GUP)
Wastelander Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 I actually had never done anything special with my rank certifications until my most recent one, which is framed in my office hanging below my 1897 map of Asia. Up until that one, all of my rank certificates went into a folder. My most recent certificate was for Nikyu in Shorin-Ryu, and it was my first rank in that system, so to commemorate that I actually requested a certificate from Nakazato Shugoro. I got the certificate from my sensei, of course, but he had his sensei request one of the fancy, hand-written ones from the hombu dojo in Naha for me. It marked an important moment to me, so I framed it. I will likely do the same when I reach Shodan, but I think I will mount it to a plaque instead of using a simple frame. blacknebula Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 I keep the most recent one in a frame, next to my belt holder. The older ones I put into page protectors in a binder. I guess this will only work until I get to dan level though, becuase I think the dan ones are larger than the kyu ones. But I'll figure something out when the time comes.

Tzu-Logic Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 I frame them and have them hanging up all in a line across my basement wall. A warrior may choose pacifism, all others are condemned to it."Under the sky, under the heavens, there is but one family." -Bruce Lee
