hi guys sorry to bother u all again. But im quite unsure wbout the kumite i am entering. It says it is an open tournament. Does that mean i, an orange belt could end up fighting a dan grade???? I think im having second thoughts now

It means it's open to competitors outside your group. It doesn't mean it's a free for all so no, as an orange belt, it's highly unlikely you will be fighting dan grades.

If it's a Wado open, it means you could be competing against other Wado groups.

If it's a karate open you could be competing against other styles.

Hi Steve is it the Scottish International Open?

If so, I believe its a Karate Open, so you'll be competing against other styles also.

Good luck for the tournament. Suck in the experience.. and if it hurts, you know what, its probably worth it.

Open competitions are fun. I judged/reffed the last one in the area. Was a blast. I will probably continue to do so and then compete when my knee is back to full strength.
