MuayTB1 Posted August 14, 2001 Posted August 14, 2001 what the heck. how come there is boxing every tuesday night adn friday night but there are no muaythai, san shou, and kickboxing. "Don't think!! Feel..." -Bruce Leehttps://www.muaythaiboxing.friendpages.comThis site is dumb but I made it so it is good.
MasterP Posted February 11, 2002 Posted February 11, 2002 the difference is that boxing brings in more rvenue that kickboxing. if more kickboxing was shown on television then the kickboxers would make more money. but with the likes of don king around boxing will carry on to bring in more money than kickboxing therefore being shown on tv more.
ad Posted February 13, 2002 Posted February 13, 2002 muay , i presume your a talking about british tele, there used to be like two weeks ago, "Now is the time for combat, Night of combat, kickboxing" every moday at like 12pm on channel 5, it showed muay thai and kickboxing matches, it was good, but i think they stopped it Brown Sash Hsing I/Lau Gar Kung FuBrown Belt San Shou17 yr oldhttp://www.selfdefencehelp.co.uk
kicker Posted February 13, 2002 Posted February 13, 2002 Well there is more boxing because i think it's more of a popular sport then kickboxing and May Thai. But still i see it about every week. and boxing there friday and Monday i think. when you do your best it`s going to show. "If you watch the pros, You will learn something new"
Prodigy-Child Posted February 13, 2002 Posted February 13, 2002 its all about the money...............millions of dollars are thrown at pro boxing, thats where it is at now man........not much we can do about it You can boo me if you want, You know I'm right!-Chris Rock
ramcalgary Posted February 28, 2002 Posted February 28, 2002 The general public does not care about kickboing even boxing is struggling with ratings why else do you think sports channels show so much of that pro wrestling crap. Ratings mean advertising dollars which mean profit. If kickboxing had ratings it would be on more. Mike Miles produces great fight cards but most of the general public would rather see stone cold and the rock act and perform. Honor is the most important thing a man has once you lose it it is gone forever
petion2000 Posted March 5, 2002 Posted March 5, 2002 Hi! First time here. I think that Rob Kaman was the best Thai Fighter outside Thailand. I also think that he was much better than Smith (no-offense to Smith; and he is also a good fighter). We have to remember that Kaman fought in Thailand, in the most prestugious tournament, under Thai rules, and he is one of the few foreigners who succeeded at defeating the Thai at their own game. Also Kaman fought agaisnt the best of his time. So, for this reason I think he is the best Thai Fighter (Western) ever. Other Europeans I think are great too are: Ramon Dekker and Danny Bille. As for Thailand I think the top 5 fighters are: 1) Apidej Sit-Hirun (the best Thai fighter ever) 2) DieselNoi (with his ungodly knees) 3) Poodpanoi 4) Pol Prapradang 5) Vicharnnoi At least that's my opinion.
cowboystu Posted March 7, 2002 Posted March 7, 2002 The programme on Channel 5 in the UK has been moved to Tuesday nights if you're still wanting to watch it. Hasn't shown any full contact kickboxing for a few weeks now - just muay thai.
