koreantiger81 Posted September 10, 2002 Posted September 10, 2002 I have trained in martial arts for over ten years. During those years, I have spent $10,000 (Canadian) on training. .. I have come to the point where I don't have the money to train...Martial arts has become so profitable for martial arts instructors and definitely less affordable for the average person...It's frustrating for the time being, that I can't continue learning my martial art...I'll have to practice on my own, until I can afford it. .Anyway, I was wondering how much do you pay for your training? LeaF Posted September 10, 2002 Posted September 10, 2002 I only pay about $525 Canadian dollars a year. This includes the option of training in Goju Ryu Karate-do 7 days a week, tai chi training and kobudo. I think this is a very reasonable price. It covers all the cost of operating the building (which the sensei owns so he also collects rent from apartments upstairs), and provides him and his family a normal life style without ripping of everyone. There is by no means any lack of quality in our instruction, our sensei is just doing this for the sake of teaching karate and is not trying to rip anyone off.... I think paying $1000 a year is a little unreasonable, I might try to find a more affordable dojo if I were you Goju Ryu Karate-do and Okinawan Kobudo, 17 Years Old 1st kyu Brown Belt in in Goju Ryu Karate-do, & Shodan in Okinawan KobudoGiven enough time, any man may master the physical. Tapout Posted September 10, 2002 Posted September 10, 2002 I pay $80/month, with this I can train 6 days a week, up to 5hrs a day! IT's is a GREAT deal and I get all the Sambo I want! Tapout or pass out, it dosen't matter to me!
rabid hamster Posted September 10, 2002 Posted September 10, 2002 hey find a better place where it's a lot cheaper. or until you get more money you can just practice at home. the place i go to has really unreasonable price... get this.. it's only 3 times a week, 40 minutes each session, but 95 dollars. I'm trying to find a better art and a better place now.. It is only with the heart that one can see clearly, for the most essential things are invisible to the eye.
Karateka_latino Posted September 10, 2002 Posted September 10, 2002 My instructor is a Personal friend of me and my family so he say."pay me when you can " you can't get a better deal than that. lol In the University i used to train karate for free. karatekid1975 Posted September 10, 2002 Posted September 10, 2002 I pay $100 a month. Well, my honey pays $200 for the both of us. That's out there. I'm trying to tell him it's expensive, but he likes it there. I paid $80 a month at my TSD dojang, but that was for umlimited classes. Laurie F

G95champ Posted September 10, 2002 Posted September 10, 2002 Geez Im glad WV is such a poor state. LOL. I have never paid more than 40.00 a month for classes. I never charge more than 30.00 a month myslef. Not all us teachers are bad guys I make next to nothing teaching. I make enough to pay the bills to keep the dojo open and thats about it.
