JusticeZero Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 The comments were a bit annoying on it. My understanding is that jujutsu contains lots of striking techniques. The two most popular filters of jujutsu (Judo and Aikido), as well as the descendant of Judo that people see most often have little in the way of atemi, but those are hardly the whole of the art. cheesefrysamurai Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Judo was created as a way of keeping the art alive. Jujutsu was unpopular after the samurai were eradicated. These old jujutsu systems were family traditions. Jigoro Kano, founder of judo was a jujutsu master. Ju= supple or soft jutsu=art or science do=wayThe jujutsu I took looked like that but part of the finish often included a joint break, not just ground and pound. Also we were pretty much never that "no holds barred" We were also not that real. Basically, i often knew what sort of strike was going to be thrown and I had to defend. Nothing Worth Having Is Easily Obtained - ESPECIALLY RANK

dkdrewkellison Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I like seeing discussion about jujutsu. My philosophy is use a close in strike that transitions to a jujutsu lock. San mokuroku icho yama ryu jujutsu daito ryu aiki jujutsu gracie jiujitsu
