Zee,

what kind of sales are you in? there is a great motivational speaker who wrote the first inspirational book i ever read some time ago called "See you at the Top" his name is Zig Ziglar. He has web sites on motivation, ideas for you and your busniess. http://www.zigziglar.com Being in sales as well as trying to sell yourself and be the best you can be, you might want to check it out.

good luck on everything.

To Everyone,

tell us something good, something inspirational, not how you beat the hell out of someone with a jump kick, or how you beat a guy up with TKD or Muai Tai in a bar or how you think that a 10 year old should not get a black belt, forget your ego, no complaints, no judging, let's talk positive, let's get down to exactly what the Martial Arts is all about, the body, mind and spirit in sinc with one another, hmmn... what a concept, I am as well as, i'm sure all the others are or maybe not...interested in hearing of how the MA has helped and inspired you in your life and made a difference as well as what you did to contribute to society as a responsible martial artsis. We are a different breed, there is the good and the bad. As martial artists we have a responsibility and especially the black belts...you have a major responisibility to...learn, grow, help, teach and contribute to the world in which you live.

"Enjoy the Journey."

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD...

"THE GREAT END OF LIFE IS NOT KNOWLEDGE, BUT ACTION."

It seems a lot of martial artists on this site, only want to discuss the hard core physical aspects of the martial arts, combat aspect of it.

let's get into the three aspects of body, mind and spirit. let's here some examples. no violence, no ego, just something with inspiration, contribution, and meaning.

(By the way... to the moderator of this forum, Patrick... thanks for the positive output you've given on different posts, keep it up.)

take care,

peace,

Jerry

students ask me all the time, if i have ever use my martial arts.

answer; i use my martial arts every day.

it has taught me to hold my head up high in every situation. it has taught me to have patience with others. it has taught me to have self control in verbal confrontations. it has given me character thoughout my life.

and these are just a few of the ways i use my martial arts training in everyday life.

the funny thing is after that answer, they always say..........yeah, but have you every used your martial arts?

It takes sacrifice to be the best.

There are always two choices, two paths to take. One is easy. And its only reward is that it's easy.

When a parent enrolls a child in the Martial Arts, that is the stuff that MOST will promote, how the arts will help in life in general. Help the child in school, social settings, etc.

When I started MA or any of my other sports, it was to present a new challange to myself, and to become the best I could be. It has never taken long to remember that there is more to the sport than the physical aspect of it.

Sometimes, we start class off or end with something that the instructor has found in his reading. This is always something to make the mind think and expand. Sometimes we have a class of...well its basically Tai Chi. The kids and sometimes myself are always impatient in these classes, lets get physical get to the real stuff. But then I take a deep breath and remember that this is all needed...the mind, the body, the spirit...and this is our schools way of promoting those parts of the MA.

When was the last time u practiced a tenet of TKD? Was it when u let that car into the long line of traffic or didn't show your road rage....you know, you will get there eventually, was it when you didnt help to spread the latest office rumor, called as soon as you knew you wouldn't make that meeting or appt so the other person could schedule something else at that time? Just a few other ways to practice those tenets outside of the dojang.

If you think you can't, then you must. If you must, you will.
