darksoul
Hi all, Who of you have this? I know there are a couple different ways to do it so I thought we could compare Shodan - Shaolin Kempo███████████████▌█
bushido_man96
What is it exactly? https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
darksoul
In Shaolin Kempo it's a high-level blocking system/breathing excercise based on Chinese Kung Fu. This is the most similar to mine, although the intro isn't done like that and we have some extra blocks that aren't shown. He also does it much faster than we've been taught to do it.He continues by doing the counters which I haven't learned yet (I believe I get it at Nidan or Sandan.) vantheman
I have done it a couple of times. It isn't needed until one tests for Third Degree in my system, so I don't know exactly how it compares to the one you have a link to, but I notice a few differences from watching it. What rank do you need it for? Van
chiliphil1
I have never done that, so I can offer no useful input, but I would like to say that it seems really cool to me, I like the flow of it and love how each block has an automatic strike with it. vantheman
I like the flow of it and love how each block has an automatic strike with it.That is a very common concept in Kempo, with each move or set of moves do as much as possible with as little movement. bushido_man96
Thanks for sharing that video. Lots of movements there. I'd like to see it applied in a two-man drill; it might make more sense that way. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
darksoul
We actually get Plum Tree at 3rd kyu (I think, memory is hazy.) I'll try to find a 2 man video of it. It's quite effective. Shodan - Shaolin Kempo███████████████▌█
