Kajukenbofighter Posted September 2, 2002 Posted September 2, 2002 hey can ju jitsu beat ninjut su? can Ju jitsu help me wit break dancing?
ZeRo Posted September 2, 2002 Posted September 2, 2002 well it depends on the fighter and the break dancing thing i dont really know.
KickChick Posted September 2, 2002 Posted September 2, 2002 Well (someone I know will correct me if I'm wrong) ... Ninjutsu (martial art of the ninja)seems to be a mostly striking art with some takedowns and "secret moves" whereas Jiu-Jitsu practitioners practice striking along with choke holds, joint locks, and throws. Seems capoeira is the martial art that goes well with "breakdancing".
moobrack Posted September 2, 2002 Posted September 2, 2002 Ju jitsu could help you with breakdancing as it teaches you how to land on the floor without hurting yourself. it also teaches you balance control for things like throws and floor techniques - You learn how to position your body weight. Hope this helps! Anthony Bullock1st Dan Black Belt - Shotokan Karate5th Kyu Yellow Belt - Aiki-Jutsuhttps://www.universaldojo.com Coming Soon
inyctrotter Posted September 8, 2002 Posted September 8, 2002 Shouldnt this be in the art vs art section?
three60roundhouse Posted September 8, 2002 Posted September 8, 2002 No, it is in the right section. Someone is asking about jiu-jitsu and it is the grappling section. 1st dan Tae Kwon DoYellow Belt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu16 Years OldGirls kick butt!
Kensai Posted September 8, 2002 Posted September 8, 2002 lol. They are both amazing arts. They deal with more or less the same things being Japanese, and warrior budo arts. But perhaps if you are into dancing you should look at Capoeria.
Karateka_latino Posted September 9, 2002 Posted September 9, 2002 Wu Shu can help you in dancing as well.
Tobias_Reece Posted September 9, 2002 Posted September 9, 2002 There is a breakdancing move called "Suicide" where you do a front summersalt in the air and land flat on your back. Obviously you need a lot of practice to do this (jiu-jutsu/tomiki aikido etc. may help with this to breakfall correctly) However, if you want to dance, go to a dance school. If you want to learn martial arts, go to a martial arts school. "You Are Never Given A Dream Without Also Being Given The Power To Make It True. moobrack Posted September 10, 2002 Posted September 10, 2002 yes - i also agree with tobias, it is a waste of time going to martial arts to learn how to dance! Anthony Bullock1st Dan Black Belt - Shotokan Karate5th Kyu Yellow Belt - Aiki-Jutsuhttps://www.universaldojo.com Coming Soon
