I also do Shoring Ryu Matsumura Seito, but under the late Kuda Yuichi's teachings, not Sensei Kise's. There are differences. Both were students of the late OSensei Soken Hohan and chose different paths after OSensei died.

If you don't want to stand behind our troops, please..feel free to stand in front of them.

Student since January 1975---4th Dan, retired due to non-martial arts related injuries.

I have hear of your style and I have seen students from your style years ago. Interesting style with an interesting history. When I first started, many years ago, we did not have all the colored belts you young guys have awarded today. We had a 10 kyu system but only White, Green, Brown belts awarded at the student level. Before my time the number of colors were even less. As for your style, again rich in tradition and quite interesting. I am also facinated that, if I am reading it right, Pian 4 and Seisan are kata for Shodan. I never knew that about your style. I'm not saying it's bad I just never knew that. Good luck to you.

My first Sensei called his style Shorinji Karatedo. I have not seen any Shorin Ryu Karate taught after that, it is quite rare in the UK. The Kata are not familiar to me either. It sounds quite interesting though, good luck.

Look to the far mountain and see all.
