tallgeese Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Thanks Clay!! That splash back you speak about...if there's no backup on scene, how can you detain the suspect if that stuff gets in your eyes? Is that type of possibility ever taught in academy?Hopefully, the suspect becomes more overcome than the LEO's. You do actually practice doing this at academy. We even had to manipulate and fire a training weapon while under its effects. You usually do it again at your own department. It's not fun, and doesn't get done much, if ever after that, but at least you know you can do it. For me, since I won't practice it ever again (seriously, I won't) I just try not to use it. http://alphajiujitsu.com/https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJhRVuwbm__LwXPvFMReMww
evergrey Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Haha, always fun seeing a couple of the instructors at my dojo blinking and sniffing and coughing after a day training with the spray. I do not envy those guys. I'm going to experience a taser at some point... but I think I'll pass on the spray, thanks! http://kyokushinchick.blogspot.com/"If you can fatally judo-chop a bull, you can sit however you want." -MasterPain, on why Mas Oyama had Kyokushin karateka sit in seiza with their clenched fists on their thighs.
