New to the group. Studied with Master Kise on Okinawa before retiring from the Marines. Received Nidan in 2001. Briefly studied shotokan while in Burma and North Carolina.

Currently serving as House Parent for an orphanage in the Philippines and thought karate would be a great way to instill discipline, goal setting, and provide a healthy activity to the children in the orphanage so I dug out the gi and belt and now I have 30 captive students ... they are responding well!

Looking forward to gaining insight from the forum.
