EndZone Freestylist Posted August 31, 2002 Posted August 31, 2002 Greetings, I am new here and would like to tell you all about my unique style of martial arts, its called EndZone Freestyle Fighting Systems. My instructor has taken martial arts formally but finds each art quite lacking and incorperated usable techniques from different diciplines into an effective system for striking and grappling. Together with my instructor we are expanding the style, any extra techniques are welcomed as long as they are practical enough for street fighting/NHB. To us an effective style must be open ended, rather than rigid, although we are all working to further structure our unique style without closing the door to possibly useful techniques/strategies. Some of the styles we've incorperated techniques from are: Karate, Muay Thai, Judo, BJJ, Sambo, kickboxing as well as modifying existing techniques to improve them as best we can to fit our personal strengths and weaknesses. Any comments or questions about EndZone Freestyle Fighting Systems are welcomed. "Someone once told me that violence never solved anything, but my elbow strikes usually shut him up"
KickChick Posted August 31, 2002 Posted August 31, 2002 Welcome to KarateForums ... very interesting ecclectic style this "endzone freestyle fighting system"... do you have any "formal" martial art training in any of those disciplines ... just wondering. Is it just you and this instructor training together or is there a "place" you train. How long have you both been "developing" this fighting style blend and have you found any outside interest from individuals wanting to train in this new system.
EndZone Freestyle Fighter Posted August 31, 2002 Posted August 31, 2002 Hi, I'm his instructor, EndZone Freestylist does not currently have any FORMAL training aside from my instruction but will soon be starting SAMBO. I've been developing this system for about 3 years and am continuing to do so. And yes, I do have interest from other individuals wanting to train in this system. My life revolves around martial arts and i assure you that i would never create a 'McDojo'. I hope that this style does not come off as the 'McDojo down the street' that is just trying to make money and look unique at the expense of quality training and effective techniques. I assure you that every student i teach recieves excellent training and taught proven techniques. Besides, most of our techniques are taken from other styles, so obviously they work. I'm just trying to peice together a system that caters to the specific strengths and weaknesses of its practitioners. Thanks for your input! rabid hamster Posted August 31, 2002 Posted August 31, 2002 sounds cool have you ever used it effectively? It is only with the heart that one can see clearly, for the most essential things are invisible to the eye.
G95champ Posted August 31, 2002 Posted August 31, 2002 Welcome both of you all need to introduce yourself's in the intro section. Keep us updated on how the style comes out. (General George S. EndZone Freestyle Fighter Posted August 31, 2002 Posted August 31, 2002 I live, and teach in Brampton, Ontario. As for using it effectivly, some guy jumped me totally un-expectedly into a kinda sloppy guillotine, so i double-legged him and gave him a pressure point to the head, needless to say i walked away unscathed. Another time, some hot-head attacked me in a blind rage, for what reason im still unsure of. Either way i dropped him with a picture perfect sidekick to the solar plexus. Those are just a few examples of the EFS being applied. Using my martial arts skill and EFS ive since gained respect and credibility in my community. Any further feedback would be great. Karateka_latino Posted August 31, 2002 Posted August 31, 2002 Sounds Pretty good. Its a system that looks very practial to learn and effective on street, good, we are working towards that direction too. Im glad to heard from another eclectic martial artist in this forum, wellcome friend.
EndZone Freestylist Posted August 31, 2002 Author Posted August 31, 2002 I just wanna take this time to say 'thanks alot' to everyone out there for taking the time to write back and support our growing system! And yeah... my instructor works me like a dog! Feel free to continue to post any feedback/question! Kensai Posted August 31, 2002 Posted August 31, 2002 Sounds interesting, I am not a big fan of changing any of the traditional arts. But needs must and all that.......... Please dont create a sort of Dux Ryu hybrid. If you dont do this, you will always have my respect. Best of luck with your system.
