shotokai karate,need help?

hi,i found out two places that teach shotokai karate

but i dont know much about the style

i tried to google it,and it said that shotokai isnt an official style of karate

so there isnt much information about the style itself

so might i ask,how do they aproach striking?

if it is similar to styles like shotokan in terms of combat aproach

and if there is a lot of kata?

i dont know really what to aspect,so can any of you guys help me out?

Official style of karate?!? There's nothing official that brands a style of the MA official of anything. Google isn't the official governing body for the MA styles of the world.

Shoto-Kan and Shoto-Kai are more or less the same thing. When Funikoshi Sensei passed there were some in-house politics as to who should rightly take over the position as Kancho. The split occurred and thus the 2 organisations exist. I believe that in Shoto-Kai the highest rank one can attain in Godan

well achually i had already seen that wikipedia page

i am not really asking how the style was founded,backstory

i was really asking more of what can i espect of the techniques

and the fighting aspect of it has an art

i espect to be more of a defensive style like shotokan,with strikes to the body,head and several other aplications

what does the style of shotokain mainly focus on?

I thought that the last paragraph in Wikipedia spoke about Shotokai's techniques/fighting aspect, if not, then I apologize.
