MasterPain
Reason #10... The traditional black kenpo gi is very slimming.#9... Keeps muscles from going cold during less active time periods.#8.. When training alone at night, non-martial artists coming in to do cardio will be less disturbed by the guy swinging a machete around in the next room.#7.... Traditional street cred.#6... Less dripping sweat on the mats.#5.. MMA or Kempo gloves (you know what Master Ken would say) make deploying a training knife from a pocket too much of an ordeal, but drawing from an obi requires the same amount of time and roughly the same movement as the blades I typically carry, allowing for more realistic situational drilling.#4... No more digging in the laundry searching for gym clothes. (I'm a lazy housekeeper.)#3... Putting a gi on is psychologically like the guy in Over the Top turning his hat around.#2 Never having to verbally say "No, we do not train UFC." again.and the #1 reason for training in a gi...
