the way i train in moves is to do a 10 minutes of punching, 100 kicks per leg, then after that i pratice each tech for at least 2 minutes or more if i feel it needs to be down. then i pretend that i'm fighting someone appling all those techs. then after that work on my footwork. well i'm from irvington, nj but i'm going to move to a new location at south jersey. this is the reason i didn't get the chance to enroll in a school. i have to wait till i move at that location. and no not yet against a skilled martial artist thats why i keep training hard. I want to enroll in a ma school so i can get some good training, techs, and to use my skills in a tournament. but overall i've never got the chance to fight a skilled martial artist to see if my theories and skills are good. :bawling:

Keep up the good training, if you continue to train hard, then you'll succeed. Get some formal training, it'll help keep your gaze wide and open. And help give you some direction. But keep up the good work, and if there is any more about your style, please do tell. :karate:

Hello,

Look we are working on a eclectic style here too. But the diference is that our style was blend it by a 20+ instructor not by ourselfs. My instructor has trained in several styles and now he create a system of his own. Its not that we are picking random techniques from other styles. It took years of reserch and training to get at this level, everything on the program have a meaning, not ramdom techniques.

I just wanted to say a couple of things. If you are trying to learn on your own, then try to not take sooooo many diferent things from all diferent styles. Remember each style have a techniques that works only to persons that train in that style and cant be performed just like that. Kickboxing is easier to learn than any other striking martial art.

Also, don't try to learn complicated techniques surch as spinning, jumping, flying kicks!!! again, focus on practical things, front kick, stomp, kicks to the knee, etc... remember, its better to know how to throw one kick in 20 diferent ways than know 20 kicks that you only know how to throw it one way.

Go to a DOJO. Even if you aren't interest on get formal training you may want at least someone who knows martials arts to check your techniques make sure you are doing them at least ok. If you don't want to join a dojo, then take seminars, it works too.

There are little things you can learn from videos and books as well. they are not going to replace a qualifed instructor but its better than nothing. You won't Learn an ART from books and videos, you may just going to pick some techniques here and there.

Just be sure to train all in a very basic level, don't try advance techniques that may only hurt yourself.

Remember, there is a big diference between a mixed martial artist and a messed up martial artist.

And... DON'T think you are ready to fight on street with that kind of training. I understand you are doing it for Fun with your friends, but you should go first to a Dojo and train in whatever style you are interest.

Streets aren't a game, its VERY dangerous Territory , can cost your life if you aren't sure what you are doing.

Keep having fun on your training and when you have time, look for qualifed instruction.

Hope this helps.

hold on a minute i don't pick techs that i'm not capable of doing. i pick techs that i can do and train hard with. If i can't do it then i might change it or not do it at all. I'm not some fool using techs i know i'm not capable of. plus i'm very serious on martial art. finally i don't have so many techs from other styles. it's only a limit of at least 12.

hey that's cool, when you start MA you'll probably be ahead of your class. Until you actually start a MA I suggest you stick to two or three different styles right now, instead of incorporating little bits out of 12.

It is only with the heart that one can see clearly, for the most essential things are invisible to the eye.

the techs that i use are the hammer punch, power punch, g-clef cannon, one-inch punch(still in means of perfecting it), triple kick, double dragon kick, three ring circus, fall away, hip toss, double kick, flash elbow, palm thrust. well i tried to hide it but i do have more techs then this. :D

There are many arts that rely on

muscular strength and there are

those who through skill, can

transcend the mechanical.

I wasn't aware each of these was a style.

You'll have to enlighten me on what the three ring circus is, double dragon(the video game?) kick, and the g-clef cannon. As I am a dote, an don't know what these mean, could you please elaborate? Thank you.
