None. It is up to the parents to look into, so don't assume someone is okay just because they teach.

In the UK, CRB checks should be done every 2 years. If they are with a bonefide NGB then this is compulsory as party of their membership!

Also confirm the person teaching is a genuine Black belt too

In the USA, no background checks are required. Heck, you don't even have to know anything to teach the arts! It's pretty much an unregulated occupation/hobby.

If you don't want to stand behind our troops, please..feel free to stand in front of them.

It depends on the program.

A friend's daughter was training at a charter public school in an after school program. The old instructor joined the Navy and left. My friend was told that the classes would be suspended until they found a new instructor and ran a background check.

That's because he's working thru the school system. It might also apply if you were teaching for a health club or such. in general, while not working for anyone but yourself, no mandatory background check would be done.

Yep can confirm this. The CRB checks are pretty thorough too. Surprised you guys in the US don't have any national requirement.
