DeadlyThighs Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Hello,I am new to this forum but I have been wrestling my friends and other competitors in freestyle submission wrestling. I am aware that the rules we play by probably are not part of any actual sport but basically all we do is say that the first person to get the opponent to tap out 5 times is the winner, and they can do whatever they like to achieve this through holds. The only rule we do say is that we can only apply holds using arms and legs so we can do pretty much any submission holds out there. We mainly do bodyscissors combined with a full nelson to achieve a tap out from the opponent.I am having a match with a friend soon and I was hoping if anyone found give me any tips or moves that I could try that would achieve a tap out as quick as possible. It does not matter if the moves are not legal in proper sport, I am just looking for ways to achieve a submission in any way possible. My opponent is fairly new to the sport but his legs are incredibly strong and muscular so any advice on how to get out of bodyscissors would be very helpful! Also if there any any other tips you could give me on how to get quick and painful submissions your help would be greatly appreciated!Thank You

You make people tap out with a body scissors and full nelson? You need to find a BJJ, Judo, Sambo or any other proper submission grappling school. I can tell you to Google how to do armbars, keylocks and heel hooks all day, but without someone who knows how to do them properly teaching you it is pretty unlikely that you will be able to do them very effectively. DeadlyThighs Posted April 5, 2012 Author Posted April 5, 2012 Yes it's nothing really competitive, but we just squeeze each other with our arms and legs until someone taps out. And have you got any suggestions as to how to get out of a bodyscissor that is quite a strong one and would it be possible for you to give me the names of some of the moves that I could try and learn from the internet??Thanks
DeadlyThighs Posted April 5, 2012 Author Posted April 5, 2012 I do have quite strong legs as I have broken some people's ribs a few times applying a bodyscissor and I have scissored someone's legs with my legs and have broken their legs, but my opposition has really strong legs and I just need some help with ideas as how to get out of their legs...
Wastelander Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 (edited) It has nothing to do with being competitive and everything to do with being effective. A body scissors can potentially crack ribs, yes, or it could possibly rupture a person's liver, spleen or pancreas and cause them to DIE. That may not be a common problem, but it has happened in the past, as I recall, which is what got it banned in Judo. Aside from that, though, it really isn't a very effective way to submit someone unless you do have very strong legs, and even then they could lock your ankle, slam you onto the mat or simply turn sideways and throw your legs over their head and pass to side control or mount (which is what I have always done on people who do body scissors because they don't know how to use guard). You all need to find a legitimate place to actually learn how to grapple. As for telling you things to look up online, that would be like aiding you in hurting another person by doing something you don't know how to properly and safely do, so I won't do it. Ueshirokarate Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 OP is in very dire need of professional help. He really needs to find a good school pronto, or one of his friends or himself are going to get very hurt or worse. Matsubayashi RyuCMMACC (Certified Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning Coach)
ps1 Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Go to an actual jiu-jitsu school before someone gets hurt. I will play no part in your foolish endeavor. Good luck. "It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenius."
MasterPain Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Umm...If you manage not to kill yourselves, you could do this for years and still get completely owned by any legit BJJ blue belt on the planet. Also, those sport rules you mentioned, they are there so no one gets seriously hurt. Most stuff that is against sporting rules should be trained at lower speed, in an alive but controlled and non competitive manner. You need proper instruction. Nothing good comes from a bunch of untrained high school boys trying to trying to dominate one another without supervision. My fists bleed death. -Akuma
