LeaF
well we wear uniforms and I think it is a good idea in high schools, altough I am against it in elementry schools I like the idea of uniforms because there are less forunate children in the world and uniforms are a way of them to fit in and not be judged on their appearance. They also discourage robbery, because your all wearing the same thing, and they make you feel alot more apart of a comunity of people. Now some might say that uniforms take away your individuality and I disagree. You can still do whatever you want with you hair, and pick what ever tie you want But I think in a way uniforms actually increasae individuality, because it allows people to look at each other more equally and really ge to know more of the person inside without being blinded or discouraged by clothing. G95champ
Teacher speaking LOL Uniforms never - This is America and we have the right to choose. Private schools are differant but in public schools it is aginst the Constution. (voters can pass it however) Dress Code you bet - If our local schools did not have one girls would come in bikini tops. Guys would come in beer shirts and wife beaters. There has to be a line but uniforms are a no go in public schools. (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory." omnifinite
It seems that public school is slowly removing all traces of real life from their environment in order to keep the "peace" and cover their asses from lawsuit-happy parents (who are just as much to blame). In the end I think this sort of thing leaves the student pampered and sheltered and ill-prepared for the real world. Of course towards the end they have the nerve to turn around and tell you that colleges value people who stand out as individuals... something they've spent the past few years discouraging you from. I was so glad to be out of that place . 1st Dan HapkidoColored belts in Kempo and Jujitsu

G95champ
KSN I agree that uniforms have a great upside. However the thing is this is the USA and everyone has the right to do what they want as long as it don't harm another. Self expression is key to our way of life. Uniforms will never win If it is ever taken to the Supreme Court. (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory." The more comfortable you are with your environment the better your performance. LeaF
Uniforms will never win If it is ever taken to the Supreme Court. I don't agree that uniforms should be regulated across a nation. But I think some schools should do it leaving a choice for people. I mean there are parent councils and the staff could have a vote to decide for that pertictular school. That way people who like uniforms could go there and those who do not like them can go to another public school, that way everyone's happy Goju Ryu Karate-do and Okinawan Kobudo, 17 Years Old 1st kyu Brown Belt in in Goju Ryu Karate-do, & Shodan in Okinawan KobudoGiven enough time, any man may master the physical.
