Hi All,

In training do you make your throws into winding throws for efficiency? I am trying to get the skills to be able to because from what i have seen it is better for applying and using locks and holds on the ground to your opponent.

Does anyone have experience with locks and holds after using winding throws who wants to offer advice or an opinion.

Thanx :)

Generally, in KSW, there is a simple joint lock performed before and after the throw. The first one is to set up the throw. The last one is to keep the person under control once they are on the ground, ending that with a strike if needed. Most of our throws are very circular in order to keep the opponent off balance. They're not just a little baskeball sized pattern. They are more of an arm length sweep over or beside the opponent. Of course, this circular sweeping movement doesn't really apply to an hip throw or over the shoulder, but even then there is normally some kind of joint lock associated with it, again, to keep the opponent under control and in constant pain.

It's happy hour somewhere in the world.

It is a throw which instead of just applying a straight forward throw - ir brings your opponent round and in front of you in a turning motion, so you can do a number of techniques and locks with much more ease!

Hope this helps!

I havent been taught a clothesline properly yet - i can only perform one from observations and improvisations which isnt enough to go by to make it effective.

i was just trying to work out hip thorw to armbar. i was puzzled about what kinda armbar you would use?

i was thinking that chinesse armbar (i think thats what its called) would be the best to use.

the armbar i am farmiliar with is the one where your right arm wraps around the arm of your opponent and pushed on the rib cage of your opponent, while kneeling on his lower torso and back of his neck!
