todome Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Never what? The engine of the technique is important, but sometimes you need to think about the tires, too.Whether the tires are spinning horizontally or vertically totally changes what the drive train needs to do. I'm more familiar with a horizontal fist so maybe its just what I'm used to that makes me notice a marked lack of downward pressure at the core required to finish a vertical punch. we all have our moments
BarbedTerror Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 At GKR, when learning the basics, they teach you to punch horizontally. Although when training for touraments, they encourage the use of the vertical fist Pain is weakness leaving the body.
sensei8 Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 Methodologies OR preferences. It's a fine line that one has to daily balance upon. Vertical or horizontal; just as long as their effective at its application is the only thing that I believe should matter at the end. **Proof is on the floor!!!
