evergrey Posted March 9, 2012 Author Posted March 9, 2012 Oh man me too. It took me weeks to get better from the illness that prompted this post. Still recovering, even. shadowspawn Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 I'm assuming we're talking about modern day karate here. The beauty of it is that you don't need much to train. If you can take 2 steps in any direction, you have enough room to train on your own. You don't need a partner or even an instructor to train. All you need is the basics and the knowledge of at least one kata.
evergrey Posted March 14, 2012 Author Posted March 14, 2012 Kata is great, and something we learn, but we are very combat-focused in Kyokushin. http://kyokushinchick.blogspot.com/"If you can fatally judo-chop a bull, you can sit however you want." -MasterPain, on why Mas Oyama had Kyokushin karateka sit in seiza with their clenched fists on their thighs.
