BlueDragon1981 Posted August 22, 2002 Posted August 22, 2002 I did not know this until last night. There is a National Womens Football League. They are in there second year. https://www.nwflcentral.com
diamondick Posted August 23, 2002 Posted August 23, 2002 Hilarious, I´d like to see the cheerleaders ¿guys in skirts or their lez girlfriends?
three60roundhouse Posted August 23, 2002 Posted August 23, 2002 ¿guys in skirts or their lez girlfriends? I found that a bit offensive, diamondick. Are you implying that female athletes have a certain sexual orientation. I think i am going to call one of their linebackers to come show you how their work is done . 1st dan Tae Kwon DoYellow Belt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu16 Years OldGirls kick butt!
diamondick Posted August 23, 2002 Posted August 23, 2002 Yes, those who excel at womens sport usually have higher testosterone levels than normal women. This means having masculine traits such as loosing their period, among other things. High percentage of carpet munching.
KickChick Posted August 23, 2002 Posted August 23, 2002 I'm gonna try to put this as eloquently and as "ladylike" as I can .... first of all I don't like your choice of terminology (I will leave that up to Patrick) What are you talking about? Seems the mere presence of women in sport (regardless of sexuality) threatens your male domination and rule. You are totally misinformed! You can't be for real? OK so you also must believe (besides female athletes are lesbians) that football players are dumb, African-Americans have rhythm, Jews are wealthy but frugal, and the white man can't jump! Making a statement that imparts a specific characteristic to a group as a whole is false. Stereotypes are the product of ignorance and discriminatory bias. Your labeling of female athletes as lesbian helps you (some men) to "justify" the athletic talents of men. Men have associated lesbians with having mannish qualities. In fact, early 20thcentury sexologists believed that lesbians were merely men trapped in women's bodies. Thus, men could save face in the fact that the women who were doing what men did by saying that they weren't "real" women at all. So while gay male athletes couldn't possibly be athletic.... female athletes must certainly be lesbian. The lesbian sport myth may have actually generated some truth though. It's quite possible that the existence of the myth increased the number of lesbians in sport (primarily team sports) because heterosexual girls either dropped out of the sport, or were prohibited by their parents from joining sport because of the myth. Either way, women's team sports, in years gone past, have been associated with high numbers of lesbians. With the passage Title IX (which mandated equal educational funding for men's and women's sport 26 years ago), however, sport began to be redefined (by women) as something socially acceptable within the feminine role. Still, old myth's die-hard and the stereotype of female athletes being lesbians persist and women are still oppressed in sport. Men desire to maintain their male privilege and if women can be competitive and tough (masculine traits) then what will happen to the meanings of masculinity and femininity? And what rite of passage will men use to secure their privileged place?
LeaF Posted August 23, 2002 Posted August 23, 2002 ok I may regret this later but I am going to get invovled in this conversation.... Firstly the comment that 360 and kick appear to be taking so much offense I took as a simple good natured joke...Hilarious, I´d like to see the cheerleaders ¿guys in skirts or their lez girlfriends? This was indicated to me by the laughing smilly face at the end of the post Yes, those who excel at womens sport usually have higher testosterone levels than normal women. This means having masculine traits such as loosing their period, among other things. Now Diamondick made it evident in the next post that yes he does feel female atheletes do have a sexual orientation, and I can understand how some women may take offense to this....but I believe the rest of his comments in that post are generally true (depending on the intensity of the sport that is). first of all I don't like your choice of terminology what terminology would you be refering to? Period, I do not see how this word would be offensive to women or men, perhaps you would care to explain why this is such a terrible word? KickChick your post had made it quite clear about your possition on this topic, but I really don't see the purpose behind it, surely you can not expect to change dimondick's perception of the female athelete with one post Men desire to maintain their male privilege and if women can be competitive and tough (masculine traits) then what will happen to the meanings of masculinity and femininity? And what rite of passage will men use to secure their privileged place? I found this statement especally offending. What right do you have to judge men, and to say that all* men feel they have to have some kind of seperiority over women and female counter parts in a sport. What makes you any better then dimondick when you start making statements of this kind. I hold alot of respect for female atheletes and I have no problem asking them for help or training and learning under them, and under their guidance. I don't think that in todays society many men feel intimidated by female atheletes as in the past. THe men that do feel intimidated and come up with these statements are generally to insecure about their own sexuality and state of being so they come up with these rumers/statements what ever you want to call them to help them define and secure their sexuality. I believe the number of men like this is reducing. *this statement was generalize so I am assuming that you mean to speak of all or the majority of men out there. KickChick Posted August 24, 2002 Posted August 24, 2002 (edited) So I guess I wasn't very eloquent. So see two can play that game... my plan worked!!! First thing: choice of terminology in question was "High percentage of carpet munching" ...I mean come on ....I realize you're just 16 LeaF I believe I was referring to men such a "diamond dick" .... not ALL men or boys. This isn't the first time a joke was misconstrued!... I'm sure it won't be the last.We do have a joke forum for jokes!! Let's keep it civil ... I made some good points I thought.... sorry if I offended you Edited August 24, 2002 by KickChick
LeaF Posted August 24, 2002 Posted August 24, 2002 fair enough, I may have been just a little harsh then too.... And to be honest I was a little slow on catching on to what he meant by carpet munching, I guess not all teens have a sick mind ... I agree that isn't very approirate and yes you did have some good points Goju Ryu Karate-do and Okinawan Kobudo, 17 Years Old 1st kyu Brown Belt in in Goju Ryu Karate-do, & Shodan in Okinawan KobudoGiven enough time, any man may master the physical. diamondick Posted August 24, 2002 Posted August 24, 2002 Peace out for all, i was not trying to offend, it is i recently met a girl kick boxer, who is gay, this came to mind when i saw the thread. I guess it was stupid of me to generalize as many of the girls here are not. I hope the NWFL is very successful and gets its deserved media coverage.
KickChick Posted August 26, 2002 Posted August 26, 2002 whew! I'm a happy heterosexual female martial artist now ... (not that I wasn't before diamondick's apology) Thanks .... Peace to you also!
