The more programs that run in the background using up ram the slower the computer functions in general. Adding more ram sometimes helps.

Yep the more you install the slower it will get. Unless you know how to disable things on startup ect. Their are ways to make things only run when you ask them. That is something I'm still learning.

It has to search through more stuff to find what it wants, hence the slower access time. Its like looking for a book in a library, the more books there are, the longer it takes :)

HELP!!!!

 

.... don't know whether this is happening cos' I'm burning up the keyboard here posting a little more than usual...(LET'S GO SEOUL SURVIVORS!!!!!!!!)

 

(and I don't want to go back rereading all the prior posts here) ... Hey this thread is pretty popular... cool :up:!!!

 

QUESTION: Why is my hard drive (tower) ,making grinding sounds every once in a while??? Can't be good.... doesn't sound good. What should I do??? HELP!!!

It is processing information. Sometimes it gets bogged down. Doesn't nessecarily happen at any specific time. Usually it is just the computer doing its thing. If it does it constantly though. Like non stop you may need something replaced.
