What is your favorite blocking defensive technique?

What is your favorite attacking technique?

What is your favorite kicking technique?

What is your favorite "hand" technique (Tiger Claw, fist, back knuckle...)?

Using no way as way, no style as style, taking what works for me and leaving the rest for someone else.

In answering my own questions...

1. outside cleansing

2. straight lead knuckle punch (Long Fist)

3. front kick

4. finger slap (for the eyes and certain nerve attacks)

Happy New Year!!!

What is your favorite blocking defensive technique?

Just basic stance work. We don't block, but we keep guarded.

What is your favorite attacking technique?

Martelo do chao, a semi-inverted spinning shin kick from the floor.

What is your favorite kicking technique?

See above.

What is your favorite "hand" technique (Tiger Claw, fist, back knuckle...)

Palm heel push to the jaw.

I am presuming 'favorite' as in 'preferred' rather than 'most often used'. I have other 'pawn' kicks that I am happy with.

I also note you did not ask this:

What is your favorite takedown?

Cruz, as a response to a kick.

Favorite Take-down...good one, I didn't think of it.

My favorite take-down is a wrist lock throw...you can break the wrist during the throw if you have too, and I love seeing those feet flying threw the air one right after the other!

Using no way as way, no style as style, taking what works for me and leaving the rest for someone else.

I'll preface this list by saying the best tactic in any situation is the one that best fits. Now that we have that philosophical point out of the way:

1) Rear hand trap to straight attack, coutner over top. yes, there is a Chinese name for this out of JKD, but I don't remember it.

2)Triangle choke

3) MT round

4) Straight punches down from knee in belly

If we add takedown: Underhook trip or double leg, close tie.

What is your favorite blocking defensive technique?

This depends on what is being thrown...a punch? A kick? Grab? I suppose my favorite is a back knuckle strike to a nerve point on the attackers arm/leg.

What is your favorite attacking technique?

I tend to favor a lunging backfist to the face, whether I'm attacking or countering an attack. It's very fast and (if I say so myself...lol) and can be quite accurate and hard to defend against.

What is your favorite kicking technique?

Easy, the front leg snap kick when the attacker comes at me.

What is your favorite "hand" technique (Tiger Claw, fist, back knuckle...)?

Again, the backfist because it's fast and retracts quickly.

Block: Either cross-body block or swim block

Attack: I don't attack with just one technique at a time so this is rather hard to answer

Kick: Lead-leg side kick

Hand Technique: Palm heel

Takedown: Harai Goshi
