1st Dan/2nd Kyu/3rd Kyu Test: Bujin Bugei Jutsu

Recommended Posts

I'll be posting a good portion of what was my black belt test, Groin Strike's 2nd Brown Belt Test, and another Student's 1st Brown Belt Test (3rd Kyu). I'm working on uploading the video, so most - if not all of it - will be posted by midnight. This is from October of 2010, and was about 8 hours long. Tallgeese was on the testing board along with Master Pain, who participated in the test for the fun of it.

We started off in the morning by unloading a trailer full of gravel with shovels and buckets. This led into an obstacle course, which was followed up with finishing the gravel unload. We were then challenged to put on and take off the gate of the trailer. Groinstrike had a particularly good time with this.

We then broke for lunch and got back to the gym. I led the class through drills for what seemed like forever, and then we did a little bit of weapon stuff, grappling, and sparring. We've got a huge chunk of everything on film and it's pretty good entertainment in my opinion. I'm uploading everything to my computer as we speak. :)

Edit: Here are all the videos for those of you who don't want to dig through this entire thread.

I had forgetten about the gate to the trailer, that thing gave me all kinds of trouble.

I think for the next testing we need to go with your eco-challenge idea, and have a cross country hike thrown in or a deliverence style canoe challenge.

Ok, I'm currently uploading to youtube - I became horribly side-tracked with an "adventure".

Edit: The first video is about 45 seconds long. At this point we're working clinch drills with Tallgeese and unloading gravel.

These should be the next ones in order. There's 4-6 hours of this, so I'll be uploading for the next 24 hours or so.

It should be pointed out that after 35 minutes or so of gravel shoveling, that we started deliberatly sabatoging one another.

I do remember taking a great deal of pleasure in over-filling everyone's bucket while their head was turned the other direction.

Edit: The Suffering Continues. I don't think our sprints were caught on tape, but...they were most unwelcome.
