bigpopparob2000 Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Years ago, someone once showed me how if someone put you in a rear naked choke and he crossed his legs at the ankles, you could put him in an ankle bar. Can anyone direct me to a video or instructions on how to do this? I can't find a video or instructions via websearch.
ShoriKid Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 should be the close to what you're talking about, first hit I found. Don't have access to sound, but looks about like the ankle crank/lock I've done. Kisshu fushin, Oni te hotoke kokoro. A demon's hand, a saint's heart. -- Osensei Shoshin Nagamine
ps1 Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Yup...that's the one. It's a great move when the guy on your back loses focus and makes the mistake. "It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenius."
bigpopparob2000 Posted December 25, 2011 Author Posted December 25, 2011 I must have been using the wrong search words. Thank you so much, ShoriKid.
pama Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Just as a note, if you lace your opposite leg over his leg that you are attacking (as he demonstrated) the pressure will be more of a twisting motion which will put pressure on his kneed as well and if you use your same side leg to lace with it will tend to be more of a straight ankle lock pressure.
Drew Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 It may be helpful to add that when you are the person who has the others back, another safe and more controlling alternative to the standard hooks is to "anaconda" his torso like in this video: Checkout my Insta and my original music: https://www.instagram.com/andrewmurphy1992/Poems, Stories, other Writings: https://andrewsnotebook6.wordpress.com/Youtube: @AndrewMilesMurphy
pama Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 This is good for really tiring your opponent out and taking the breath out of them. But, not always an option for some as you have to either have longer legs or going against someone with a smaller wast.

pittbullJudoka Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 But with using the body triangle and he touches on it in the video that there are a couple ankle locks from there and there's no denfending them as you've basically trapped yourself and these locks are fast.

By following the general rule that you keep your hanging leg during the body triangle from being pinned beneath your opponent, you almost completely negate their ability to perform them. Also, flexible ankles make them pretty hard to crank on hard enough to get a tap.
