Terrierpike
Yeah, I like to get in shape, but then something like this might happen, and you might want to be ready:http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/more-sports/ufc-mixed-martial-artist-turns-tables-robber-beat-shot-leg-gun-report-article-1.987367 It's not what you do that matters, rather, it's how you do it that defines you. MaxMarks
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing. Makes me wish all the good guys knew martial arts. The mission of my blog is to explore the connection between the skills learned in the dojo as a student of the martial arts and the skills that lead to a successful life. https://www.lifeskillsfromthedojo.comhttps://www.facebook.com/lifeskillsfromthedojo
Zaine
He certainly did a number on his face! This is one of the many reasons as to why I chose to be a martial artist instead of a boy scout (to elaborate, I had a choice between the two). Martial arts training is 30% classroom training, 70% solo training.https://www.instagram.com/nordic_karate/

shadowspawn
A daring move to say the least. One mistake and he could have been dead. I'd say that story is quite the opposite of self-defense as he was actually putting himself in harm's way, but still props to him LOL

darksoul
Guns... very very very dangerous weapons to defend against. I only started getting gun techniques at 2nd kyu. Scary stuff because if you execute the move wrong, you can get yourself, or a bystander shot. Shodan - Shaolin Kempo███████████████▌█

Scary stuff because if you execute the move wrong, you can get yourself, or a bystander shot.Forgive me, but what do gun techniques entail? I'd imagine that if the gun is drawn and they are close enough for you to do any technique, then you're already screwed unless you can talk them out of it. They'll be able to pull the trigger much faster than you'll ever be able to defend against it.My gun technique is to hand over my phone, keys, purse.. whatever they want. I can always get another. The only time I would try to defend against a gun is if I knew I was going to get shot no matter what.
