half guard is like if your opponent is cross side position and he tries to mount you, but u catch one of his legs, guy is still on top of u

half guard is just as bad as the guy on top of you, either put him in full guard or get up, cuz thats a bad position, im only 140 lbs like you so take my advice

 

Are you kidding ?

 

Get an experienced guy, such as a purple belt, and you'll have a hard time passing his half guard.

freestyler ,half guard is a defensive position, the guy on the bottom can't do that many submissions if any,

 

giving the guy on the top ,so much more of a better position

 

you don't want to keep the guy in your half guard, you would want to take the back or put him in full guard, i can't see any reason for wanting to have the guy in my half guard
