Self Defense... against a child

Cheers for the responses.

I think my main concern is how far is too far when you're faced with somebody clearly physically inferior? Especially from a legal point of view. Me vs adult isn't such a problem because its on more of a level-ish playing field or I'm going to be the weaker one. Me vs child brings up (at least in my head) that there is a case that I should hold back and show restraint. If I full on punch a 10yr old in the face say after they go to push me or something, and they suffer some long term damage because of that, it doesn't really put me in a good position.

Just make sure that when you have the situation under control, you stop. Don't get mad and go overboard, and get caught up in "teaching them a lesson." That's when it gets bad for you; it no longer is self-defense.

I know, I'm getting a bit off topic now, but that has to be said.

I'm sorry to hear that you have to deal with racism every now and then, DWx.

To me, it's one of the biggest idiocies possible, to discriminate or attack people just because they speak with an accent or have a different skin colour or else.

And that in a world that gets smaller and closer every day. And with people who travel abroad for holiday and forget, that they are strangers there and could encounter the same hostility.
